CATECHESIS FOR EVERY AGE.
Season of Creation Hike
An event that grew out of the COVID pandemic, the Season of Creation Hike is a response to the Church's commitment to the Care for Our Common Home. Parishioners of all ages and abilities gather at a nearby conservation area for worship with God's Creation.
Advent Wreath Making
The season of Advent begins the liturgical year for the church. This all-ages event on the First Sunday of Advent has become a Visitation tradition. All ages come to create an Advent Wreath for their home. Advent Wreath kits include 4 candles, wreath ring (or bring your own), fresh evergreen fir tips, floral wire, and holiday ribbon for embellishment.
Look for a new season of the Faith Formation Team's podcast, "Vis-on-Main" dropping each Springtime. Listen to host and educator Lorraine Gordon talk with guests about the topics raised in the annual parish book.
Lent Booklet written by and for Parishioners
For the past fourteen years, the Visitation Catholic Community has created our own parish Lenten reflection booklet. Now this little book has become an anticipated part of Visitation Lenten practices as 46 parishioners from diverse walks of life write each year about their Lenten meditations and stories of faith. Read last year's Lent Booklet blog.
Table for 2 Valentine's Dinner for Married Couples
This successful evening brings married couples together for a romantic dinner. Sitting at small tables for two, couples listen to speakers and discuss topics one-on-one with each other; all while being served by Visitation School 8th graders.
Every several years the Faith Formation Team plans a parish mission that engages the whole community in prayer, worship and reflection.
